Our essential workers and our essential support

Tamati Coffey
Labour List MP

Firstly, as we continue to pull together as a community to stamp out Covid-19, I want to personally thank all those essential workers who are working hard every day to play their part in this emergency. The simplest thing that the rest of New Zealand can do to stop the spread of this virus is to stay at home, stick to your bubble – once you are in your bubble you must stay in it and others can't join. Only shop when you need to, and to reduce any risk of spread, only one person per household should go shopping. Act like you have Covid-19. Stay clear of others and wear a face covering when visiting the supermarket or pharmacy.

Secondly, from food parcels to help with wages, we're encouraging all whānau not to be hesitant or whakamā about reaching out, if you need an extra bit of a tautoko to get through these challenging times. Below, we've put together key contact numbers for support services, as this Government moves hard and early, to stomp out Covid-19.
