The last 10 days have been quite extraordinary!

Firstly I'd like to acknowledge the passing of Queen Elizabeth ll. Watching the coverage since her death, I have come to appreciate even more the truly remarkable woman that she was, coming to the throne at the tender age of 25 at a time when there were very few, if any, women in power. It is said her age and gender initially prevented her from being taken seriously and yet the Queen proved herself to be steadfast and unshakeable early on, qualities which marked her entire 70 years as the Head of State of 15 countries. Rest in peace Your Majesty.

Covid response changes

New Zealand reached a significant milestone this week in our Covid response with the removal of the Covid-19 Protection Framework. The traffic light system has served us very well, but now it's time to safely turn the page on our Covid-19 management and live without the extraordinary measures we have previously used. For the first time in two years, we can approach summer with the certainty New Zealanders and business need, this will help to drive greater economic activity critical to our economic recovery.

Angie Warren-Clark and I will have a stall at this weekend's Women's Lifestyle at the Trustpower Baypark Arena. We would love it if you could pop along to see us to discuss issues important to you or just for a chat and a catch-up. I hope to see you there!
