Five years of non-delivery on promises

Talking Politics
With Sam Uffindell
Tauranga City MP

Firstly, I want to reach out to all those impacted by the terrible recent weather events across the North Island.

My deep condolences are with the families who lost loved ones.

These are challenging times for our community and if you need any further information or assistance, please reach out to my office.

Secondly, while Labour may have switched leader, the storm clouds still linger over this government. Five years of non-delivery on election promises and, by any objective measure, regression in outcomes across almost all sectors of society.

I've heard some very sad stories of families unable to pay the mortgage or their rent, of people unable to access medical specialists, of adolescents who cannot read or write, of people going out of business and unable to sleep due to endless crime.

New Zealanders deserve so much better than this.

My sole purpose in putting my hand up for political office is to improve NZ. I want the best for everyone here and I will be laser focussed on ensuring that we measure success by the outcomes we achieve.

Under a National-led government, we will get the cost of living crisis under control, we will lift incomes for all, we will build infrastructure for the future, we will restore law and order and we will deliver better health and education for all New Zealanders. I'm very excited to be a part of team that is dedicated to getting things done for all Kiwis!
