Fresh new look for MBAS website

Mercury Bay Area School has started the school year with a brand new website that will cater more effectively for the needs of its growing online audience.

Principal John Wright says the website project grew out of the school's desire to provide a platform which is easy to navigate, easy to update and is reflective of Mercury Bay's values.

The website offers a fresh new look which take cues from Mercury Bay's logo, and has been designed to improve accessibility for the school's community, teachers, students and caregivers.

'The website will also provide an opportunity for staff and students to be more involved in providing visual and written content.

'In particular, the new blogging feature and document resource section will enable more online engagement right throughout the year.”

Other changes include a new menu that reflects student year levels and courses offered, plus quick links which will make it easier for users to access everyday information like enrolment procedures, school terms dates, student services, staff contact details and timetables.

Developed by Creative Fuel, a spokesperson for the Whitianga company says they are passionate about supporting the school as it's an important part of the community.

'We have worked hard to provide a website that reflects all that the school has to offer to existing families, and attract new families. We are excited to be a partner and key sponsor of this project.”

Mercury Bay Area School provides education for Year 1 to Year 13 and is New Zealand's largest Area School in New Zealand. This year the school's roll includes 921 students and an additional 27 international students this year.
