Two roads remain closed following the wild weather which bashed the Coromandel over the weekend.
The Thames-Coromandel District Council is advising locals that sections of Port Charles Road and Kennedy Bay Road remain closed while repair work is being carried out. All other roads are open.

PORT CHARLES ROAD:
The road is closed 500m from Big Sandy Bay and will remain closed while a large slip is removed which is estimated to take up to three days.
While the work is being carried out public access past the slip site will be made available from 5pm until 7:30am, and again from 1pm until 1:30pm daily.
Contractors have also been working to repair the Tangiaro Bridge near the Port Charles Rural Fire Station today.
Council says the repairs will allow heavy machinery to cross the bridge so work on the Sand Bay slip can begin.

Kennedy Bay Road is also closed due to insufficient road width caused by slip approximately 2km from Coromandel Town.
Council says the site has been assessed by a geotechnical engineer who recommended the road remain closed while further site investigation works are being completed.
'It is expected that this road closure may be in place longer term as repair options at the site are limited due to the steep topography and questionable ground stability,” elaborates council.
'Investigation work is continuing to assess site conditions and we expect to have more information on possible options by Friday, April 29, at which time we will confirm timelines for re-opening of the road.”
Alternate access to Kennedy Bay, Tuateawa, Little Bay and Waikawau Beach is available via Colville Road and Port Charles Road.
