Magnitude 5.2 quake strikes off coast of BOP

A magnitude 5.2 earthquake has struck off the coast of the Bay of Plenty early this morning.

The quake hit 120km north-east of Whangamata at 3.47am.

It was at a depth of five kilometres.

More than 2500 people reported feeling the quake, in the Bay of Plenty, Coromandel, North Waikato and Auckland areas.

somebody just bought a house on the water front mt beach road for millions, what a risk the geo's say that a surnami will come but when, the shake this morning it could have happened its a time bomb
