The Maketu Ongataro Wetland Society - MOWS - are holding a working bee today from 9.30am - 11.30am at MOWS work shed, 461 Wilson Road North in Maketu, which they say is going to be a little bit different from what they usually do.

"Held at our shed it is going to be a coastal plant seed shucking event in conjunction with Coastcare,' says a MOWS spokesperson.

"Come along and help shuck/extract seeds from native coastal plants to provide a seed source for future plants and planting bees. This event will go ahead in rain or shine, and a light morning tea and good company will be provided! Just bring yourself. Gloves are helpful but not essential."

Everyone is welcome to come to the.BOP Paintball Speed Ball Open Day at TECT Park from 10am. Field fee (including air fills): $5 for members, $20 for casual players. Paint balls available or BYO.Rental gear such as paintball gun, mask and 500 paintballs is available.
