A fresh bout of weather warnings and watches is being issued as heavy rain continues around the country.
A severe weather warning has been issued for the Coromandel Peninsula and a watch is in place for the Bay of Plenty.
The MetService says a moist northerly flow is expected to bring heavy rain to many areas.
"Heavy rain is expected to affect northern and western parts of the South Island through to Tuesday," says a spokesperson for the weather organisation.
"Heavy rain is also forecast to affect northern and western parts of the North Island from Tuesday.
"People are advised to keep up to date with the latest forecasts."
