Weather for the week ahead

MetService has issued a Severe Weather Outlook, with settled weather expected later in the week.

"A weakening front moves east across the South Island preceded by a moist northwesterly flow," says a MetService spokesperson.

"There is moderate confidence that Westland will receive warning amounts of rain and low confidence in warning amounts of rain for Buller."

In Taurnaga, things are looking relatively fine for the week with daily highs in the 20s and overnight lows in sitting between 12 and 15 degrees throughout the week.

On Wednesday, November 29, a weak front moving northeast across the North Island will be followed by a cold showery southwesterly flow. Severe weather is not expected.

On Thursday, November 30, a ridge of high pressure will being settled weather to the nation and no severe weather is expected.

At the end of the week, on Friday, a ridge of high pressure brings settled weather to the nation and again, no severe weather is expected.
