Multiple fire trucks and fire fighters are attending a house fire in the Minden area of western Bay of Plenty.
Fire emergency NZ shift manager Ryan Geen says they received one call reporting a house fire just after 5pm on Sunday, June 2.
"We dispatched three fire engines and one water tanker,' says Ryan.
"Whilst on the way, crews called for further resources. An additional fire engine and an additional water tanker responded."
The fire, which is at a house just off State Highway 2, is being attended to by the Greerton fire brigade and water tanker, as well as fire trucks from the Tauranga and Omokoroa stations.
The Te Puke water tanker has also been sent, while the Te Puke volunteer fire brigade are maintaining fire cover for the rest of the Tauranga city area.
"The brigades arrived to find a large single-storey residential house on fire with the fire covering approximately a 10m by 10m area," says Ryan.
"We have multiple crews working to extinguish the fire, and it was taken under control at 6pm.
"There are no reports of anyone injured."
Ryan says crew are still working on site.
"A fire investigator has been notified."
While the Minden house fire was being attended to, Ryan says the Papamoa Volunteer Fire Brigade was called to another fire.
"They found a bonfire which the brigade checked to make sure it was safe. It was and they allowed it to continue to burn."
