WeatherWatch.co.nz is providing "more detail about a large low pressure system developing over the next couple of days".

In the weather organisation's latest video, head forecaster Philip Duncan describes how it’s likely to linger over NZ well into next week.

"The low brings pockets of severe weather into both islands but also plenty of “normal” weather conditions for this time of year too.

"We go into more detail about the likely tracking of this low and therefore the weather (and severe weather) it may produce.

"We’ll have more details in the days ahead as this low develops and sets in."
