Tauranga City Council staff say there will be some minor finishing works being completed off-road along Cameron Road this week.
"This includes installing a cultural sign near the Vantage Apartments building at Fourth Avenue which was not completed earlier due to an underground service clash," says a council spokesperson.
"Another edge marker is planned for installation near Sixteenth Avenue on Monday, 5 August."
Bollard stencils - which are markers on the shared pathway bollards that have the walk and cycle symbols, - as well as edge marker bollards and stencils will also be installed along the corridor where required.
"The edge marker bollards and wayfinders require a small amount of concrete at the base."
From Monday, August 5 to Thursday, August 8, a small section of asphalt footpath at the Sixteenth Avenue intersection, east, is being replaced.
Council says access to shops will be maintained at all times, with traffic controllers on site to help guide people though the area.
During July, investigation of underground services along Cameron Road from 17th Avenue to Maleme Street in Greerton, and along Pyes Pa Road between Havenbrook Way and Cheyne Road has been continuing.
Most work has been off-road and any work within the road itself done at night to minimise disruption. Lane closures were not expected however investigations were undertaken at approximately 10-15km per hour, so traffic management has been ready in case required around the slow-moving survey vehicle.
More information about the site works is available here.

Bollard stencils on a shared pathway - what an utter waste of money. They're totally ignored. Cultural signs are just a PC nice to have and an unnecessary expense at present. Access to shops will be maintained - WHERE? The carparks to access the shops have all gone. Ten busy shops between 16th and 17th Ave now served by only 3 carparks. Perhaps access for cyclists and pedestrians but no where to park a car. Little businesses, family businesses stung REALLY harshly.

So by how much have we increased the annual maintenance budget for the city..?
Every one of these nonsense additions to the city carries a maintenance cost.
When you add in health and safety measures it's not just a hundred dollars for paint here and there... It's millions in additional pressure on the rates take every year, that just drifts under the radar.
It's only a bit of paint... Yeah right. Most ratepayers haven't got a clue about the maintenance costs of a city for a bit of paint here and mowing the grass there.

our new Council set themselves in place, the sooner they can closely scrutinise the stupidity that goes on 'out the back'. Fair go, all those dreamers behind closed doors hell bent on justifying the pay check - our money - to come up with never ending schemes for projects which are totally frivolous and unnecessary. Most if not all need to pack their bags and follow the fool commissioners, which they also played.

@ Yadick and Let's get real
Agreed on all counts, if only they were spending their own money...
All this TCC "stupid" stuff is typical nefarious garbage that is only good for one thing, reveal how stupid and evil those invoiced really are.
