Artist John East has a signature style that reflects a deep connection to the natural world.

With the use of bold acrylics, the Ōmokoroa artist is able to brings his canvas subjects to life – this time they are birds native to New Zealand.

He is now showing his work at Carlton Gallery at The Arts Junction in Katikati.

A spokesperson said East “seamlessly blends native birds and botanical elements into striking compositions that celebrate the dynamic interplay of colour and subject matter”.
