Te Puke Country Music Club’s annual awards are among the most popular in New Zealand.

But the club needs money to host the awards and on Sunday, March 30, it is holding a fundraising concert.

Convener Geoff Mutton said over the years there had been some incredible talent at the award and he was grateful to those who had agreed to perform at the fundraising concert.

Among them are Jon Fletcher and his daughters, of Waipukurau. Jon has won an award at Te Puke and is excited to return to Te Puke. Also at the concert will be upcoming junior Amarah Cameron, of Gisborne, and an entertaining 4-year-old from Rotorua, Isabella Flavell.

Maraea Te Pou, of Hamilton, who took out the overall award last year, is also on the bill.

“There are other very talented singers coming from Tokoroa, Auckland and Tauranga and the backing band for the concert is a very talented mix of musicians,” Mutton said.

The concert will start at 2pm at Te Puke Citizens RSA where the restaurant will be open from 1pm. Tickets are $10.
