Police said inquiries are continuing following an assault at Bethlehem Town Centre on Saturday.

"Inquiries are ongoing following an assault involving two members of the public at a store on Bethlehem Road."

The incident was reported to Police around 6.50pm. 

A SunLive reader said there was a Hato Hano St John ambulance and three police cars, with a number of police at the scene. 

"Hato Hone St John was notified at 6.51pm and responded with one ambulance and one manager to the scene," a Hato Hone St John spokesperson said.

"Our crews assessed and treated one patient who was transported to Tauranga hospital in a minor condition."

Police said inquiries are ongoing into the incident.

"Police are speaking to those involved," a spokesperson said.
