Get ready to roll up your sleeves for Maker Mania, a hands-on adventure where kids can dive into colour, craft, and creativity every Saturday at Tauranga Library. From mixing materials to making masterpieces, tamariki can let their imaginations run wild – and take their creations home too. The popular Pocket-Size-Play series is heading indoors for winter, now hosted in the warm, welcoming space of Te Ao Mārama – Tauranga Library. Free activities run from 10.30am to 12.30pm every Saturday, proudly brought to you by Tauranga City Council with support from Downtown Tauranga.
Lines and Lyrics on Saturday

Poets are invited to share words and wisdom from 1.30pm - 3.30pm on Saturday, June 28, at Greerton Library. Whether you’re just starting out or have years of writing behind you, Lines and Lyrics offers a warm, welcoming space to explore your poetry alongside others.These informal but focused monthly sessions are open to all adults interested in sharing their poems, gaining helpful feedback, and connecting with fellow writers. Whatever your style or inspiration, you’ll find encouragement and thoughtful discussion. The group is initially facilitated by Jenny Argante, a creative writing tutor with more than 30 years of experience. Each session is shaped by open exchange, where everyone contributes as equals—listening, learning and growing together.Sessions are held one Saturday a month at Te Ao Mārama – Tauranga City Libraries. Upcoming dates continue monthly through to November.
