Vehicle crash at Kaimai summit, SH29

Emergency services are responding to a vehicle crash on State Highway 29, at the summit of the Kaimai range.

Fire and Emergency New Zealand northern shift manager Josh Pennefather said fire brigades were sent from Tauranga and Matamata stations after being notified at 2.38pm.

“There are no persons trapped. We are doing traffic control while awaiting police and ambulance,” Pennefather said.

Hato Hone St John was notified of the crash at 2.38pm.

“One ambulance responded to the scene. Our ambulance crew assessed two people in a minor condition at the scene. No transport was required.”

Motorists are advised to expect delays.
