Bay of Plenty motorists travelling between Ngongotaha and Tirau on State Highway 5 are being advised to drive with caution after reports of ice on the road.

The New Zealand Transport Agency says all lanes remain open but motorist should slow down and drive to the conditions. Until further advised.

Conditions are especially hazardous 4.47km north of Mamaku and 6.72km northwest of Tarukenga.
