Motorist are being advised to expect delays if travelling on State Highway 2 Takitimu Drive, Tauranga due to bridge repairs the New Zealand Transport Agency says.

Work has begun on bridge joint repair work this morning on the Chapel Street overbridge, heading from Mt Maunganui towards Tauranga.

The Agency says the road will be reduced to a single land with 50km/h speed restrictions between 7am and 11pm today. Motorists are advised 'minimal” delays are expected.
