Update 9.03am: Motorists are still being advised to drive carefully of snow flurries if travelling along the Desert Road, State Highway 1 says the MetService.

The MetServices says one or two snow flurries are possible near the summit this morning but snow is unlikely to settle on the road.

Earlier 7.40am: Motorists considering travelling on the Desert Road, State Highway 1 are being advised by the MetService to drive carefully with the possibility of snow flurries predicted.

The snow fall warning from the MetService is predicting of flurries up to 1cm.

The warning issued early this morning is valid until 9am this morning.
