Classic Ford nicked from garage

This 1967 classic Ford GT and trailer (pictured below) were stolen from two separate Waikato properties.

Police are appealing for information after a 1967 classic Ford GT was stolen from a garage workshop in Mangakino.

The Ford was taken from the Waikato property overnight on Sunday.

'The valuable vehicle has been in the owner's family for years and was in the process of being rebuilt, so it would have needed to be towed away on a trailer,” say police.

'Officers are also keen to hear from anyone with information about the theft of a car trailer, pictured, that was stolen from Wharepapa South, in Waikato, during the same timeframe.”

It's the believed the two incidents may be linked.

A vehicle of a similar description to the Ford GT was seen being towed by a large light blue or grey Bedford truck in the Tahuna/Ohinewai area on Sunday night around 8pm.

Anyone who has seen the car and/or trailer since Saturday night, or who has information that may help the investigation, is asked to contact Tokoroa Police on 07 885 0100.

Alternatively, information can also be left anonymously via the Crimestoppers 0800 555 111 line.

Why do thieves think they have a right to others property. A car like this one is worth more than money it is way more important than that to the owner. Lock these low lifes up where they belong.

Well said johnmac, 3 strike rule needs to be applied in NZ, then more of these low life's would be locked away for good.
