Bethlehem backlog clearing

The massive traffic tailbacks created by this afternoon's log spill over SH2 in Bethlehem should begin to clear with the logs being removed from the road.

The log trailer tipped its logs across the east bound lane about 2pm. The lanes were closed and traffic from the Katikati direction diverted down Te Paeroa Road opposite the Z Energy station.

One lane was re-opened, but throughout the afternoon traffic moved very slowly, and at one stage was backed up to Snodgrass road according to one caller to SunLive.

The road was cleared and both lanes re-opened shortly before 6pm. Go here, for an earlier report.
