Two people have been arrested following a police pursuit in Tauranga earlier this evening.
A police media spokesperson says the incident happened at about 5.30pm.
"A police pursuit was initiated this evening after the driver of a vehicle failed to stop on Chapel Street.
"Road spikes were deployed during the pursuit.
"The vehicle stopped on Levers Road and two people were arrested."
A caller to the 0800 SUNLIVE news hotline says they witnessed the vehicle heading along Cambridge Road towards Te Puna.
"The vehicle ended up stopping after being spiked."
