The road is blocked on State Highway 36 near Rotorua following a crash.

The section of road is blocked in both directions at the intersection of Gloucester Road and SH36.

In a statement issued by the New Zealand Transport Agency it says the crash is 3.06km north of Ngongotaha.

'Avoid the area or delay your journey if possible.

'Follow the direction of emergency services on scene.”

At this stage no diversions have been put in place.
