Tauranga City Council has watermain upgrades planned for both Pyes Pa and Mount Maunganui.

These upgrades may require some lane closures on some roads and traffic management with some construction noise likely.

There is also wastewater piping being installed.

State Highway 36, Pyes Pa:

The northbound lane of SH36, between the Pyes Pa roundabout and the Kennedy Road roundabout, will be closed from Monday, August 29 while watermain and wastewater piping is installed.

Northbound traffic on SH36 will be detoured at the Pyes Pa roundabout onto Pyes Pa Road.

Traffic will then either stay on Pyes Pa Road towards Barkes Corner or choose to turn left on Kennedy Road to connect to SH36. Works is estimated to be completed in mid October, weather dependent.

Victoria Road, Pacific Avenue, Salisbury Avenue, Crane Street, Carysfort Street, Links Avenue, Solway Place, Taupo Avenue, Mount Maunganui:

Works continue in these streets after bad weather conditions delayed progress.

Completion is estimated for late August. There may be minor delays with traffic management in place and construction noise expected Monday to Friday between 7am and 4.30pm.

Rita Street, Banks Avenue, Mount Maunganui:

Watermain upgrades are expected to be completed mid September. There may be minor delays with traffic management in place and construction noise expected Monday to Friday between 7am and 4.30pm.
