4pm update: Power has now been restored to nearly 1000 properties in Omokoroa following a powercut on Sunday morning.

The power cut occurred at 11.01am.

Power is estimated to be restored to Omokoroa residents by 3.15pm.

A power cut is still ongoing affecting thousands of properties near Te Puke and Maketu when a vehicle struck a pole on Sunday morning.

The outage occurred at 7.56am and is affecting 3344 properties at Maketu and Paengaroa and another 151 properties at Te Puke. Power is expected to be restored by 6pm.
