Speedcubing New Zealand is running the Tauranga Open 2023 speedcubing competition from 8am - 5.30pm today Saturday August 19 and tomorrow Sunday August 20 from 8am - 5pm at Tauranga Boys' College in Cameron Road. The competition is limited to 100 competitors. Speedcubing is solving the 3x3x3 Cube or other similar puzzles such as Megaminx and Pyraminx as quickly as possible. The competition is open to all competitors regardless of experience and skill, but certain event-based time limits will be in place so as to make sure they can stay on schedule and get through the days on time.
Head along to the Queen Elizabeth Youth Centre hall for a roller disco with Skatescool Tauranga from 2-4pm All ages and abilities are welcome. Basic instruction and tips, Disco music, lights, fog machine and limbo competitions are all part of the fun of the roller discos. Each session runs for two hours.
