Head to the movies this weekend to see a locally produced film about the Bay of Plenty community's response to the Rena disaster in 2011. The film 'Taking Back Our Beach' opened to full theatres on Friday and will be screening four times today and over the next fortnight at United Cinemas Bayfair. It is also screening at cinemas across the Bay of Plenty, including Luxe Cinemas, Whakamax, Katch Katikati, Opotiki’s De Luxe Theatre, Rotorua’s Basement Cinema as well as more than 20 cinemas NZ-wide.

Robbie Lavën and Mike Garner are presenting a show of acoustic blues, ragtime and Americana, featuring acoustic guitars, resonators, mandolin, fiddle, lap steel and washboard. All this at the Barrel Room from 7pm - 10pm.

Sound Cartel are back on the Jack Dustys stage at Bureta from 7.30pm tonight. Come and get your groove on. More information here
