It's a special day and a massive weekend for Greerton Cricket Club as they host their 50th Jubilee Club Day and Gala Dinner today.

The club would love locals to come on down to Pemberton Park for this history moment, make a day of it and show your support.

There will be plenty of cricket to watch, as the Prems take on cross town rivals Mount Maunganui which the club say is shaping up to be a cracker.

The match gets underway at 10.30am at Pemberton Park in Greerton, with live streaming of the Premier One Day Match - Greerton vs Mount and boundary commentary by Kyle Dovey and players who are keen to have a crack on the mic.

A free barbecue will be available for all club members past and present and spectators alike, with a coffee cart onsite for your caffeine fix.

Just down the road the Greerton Reserves take on Sher E punjab Te Puke at Waipuna Park where a win could see the Greerton boys move up into second place in Div 2.

"Wishing both teams well on what is a truly special day in the clubs history," says a club spokesperson.

In the evening the Greerton Cricket Club is holding their 50th Jubilee Gala Dinner at the Citz Club with up to 85 attendees and guest speaker Chris Pringle. Doors will be open at 6.30pm at the Citz Club. For more information click here
