The 25-year-old man arrested yesterday in relation to Operation Middlepark, has today had his charge upgraded to wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, says detective inspector Dave de Lange
"The upgraded charge relates to injuries sustained by one of the victims currently in Gisborne Hospital.
"He is jointly charged with the 29-year-old who was taken into custody earlier this week.
"Further charges will be considered as the investigation into events on Lytton Street, Gisborne on Saturday night progresses.
"The 25-year-old is due to appear in the Gisborne District Court this afternoon.
"Police will continue to have a highly visible presence in Gisborne as reassurance patrols are carried out, and work continues to support Kane and Chrysler’s families as they plan their loved one’s final journeys.
"Police would still like to hear from anyone who was at the party on Saturday evening, or anyone who has photos or video of the party or altercation."

Murder

He turned up uninvited and with a knife. It wasn't for dinner. He was carrying with intent. It should be a charge of murder then downgraded if reasonable grounds found.
