An investigation has been launched following an “assault” in Rotorua where it is understood a nurse suffered stab-like injuries while on a house call.
A police spokesperson said they were “investigating an assault” at an address on Maxwell Rd in Ngongotahā, Rotorua after 12pm on Saturday.
“The victim was taken to Rotorua Hospital for treatment for their injuries.”
The Herald understands the victim is a nurse who was responding to a house call at the time.
Images shared with the Herald show injuries on the victim’s arms consistent with stab-like wounds.
Comment has been sought from Health New Zealand Te Whatu Ora.
A Hato Hone St John spokesperson confirmed one ambulance and a rapid response unit attended the scene, but referred all other questions to police.
