Police have released the name of the person who died following an incident in Arthur's Pass on Sunday, February 2.

He was 25-year-old Connor Mark Knox, of Judea, Tauranga.

Emergency services were called to the area at about 11.40am following a paraglider crashing.

“Our thoughts are with those close to him,” a police spokesperson said.

The death has been referred to the coroner.
