Dominos outlets throughout Tauranga will donate one dollar from every pizza sold between 4-9pm today to help raise funds for fire stations around the city,

Bethlehem, Bureta, Tauranga, Mount Maunganui, Greerton, and Papamoa are all taking part this year, said Dominos Buerta and Bethlehem owner-operator Harkirat Singh.

"I do fundraisers and donations close to Christmas every year, and I convinced my co-franchises to participate this time."

On the donation days, Singh said he can sell around 300 to 400 pizzas each time they host one of these events.

"It is the sixth fundraiser; I do it multiple times a year."

Singh's previous fundraisers included partnering with NZ Blood to encourage people to donate and donate pizzas to Tauranga firefighters following the 2023 flood.

The money raised will go towards personal protective equipment, tools and machinery, Singh said.

"Together, we can ensure our firefighters have the best resources to serve our community," he said.
