On 21 March 2025, Steve passed away peacefully at his home in Papamoa aged 103 years.

Dearly loved husband of Nita Rewa Hetet – dec’d (nee Barton). Treasured father and father-in-law of John and Sybille, Christine and John – dec’d, Denise, Paul, and Jan. Much loved grandad and koro to his many mokopuna.

Steve’s family wish to thank the team at Te Akau Hauora for their support and aroha shown to Steve.

A funeral service for Steve will be held at 11:00am on Monday 24 March 2025 at Oparure Urupa, Oparure Road, Oparure.
